Monin & Fremin, Charles V. & A.R.

Our catalogue includes a small selection of 1830's antique maps by A.R. Frémin & V. Monin from "‎Atlas universel de géographie ancienne et moderne adopté dans les maisons d'éducations", Paris. Frémin (fl. 1820-1868) was a geographer and publisher, a pupil of Poirson (q.v.), attached to the Dépôt Générale de la Guerre in Paris. Charles V. Monin (fl. 1830-1880) was a French geographer with establishments in Caen and Paris; he was one of the first cartographic publishers to adopt lithography as a printing method. He was a member of the Société de Géographie in Paris. He is also known to have collaborated with Alexandre Vuillemin (q.v.)
